Margarita Khokhlova, former 3DMT student, presented a research paper carried out during her studies at the Electronic Imaging Symposium in San Francisco in February 2016. The paper “On the selection of patches for color camera calibration” was written in collaboration with Prof. Jon Yngve Hardeberg from NTNU in Gjøvik.
The fourth cohort for the 3D multimedia technology master has started at the Jean Monnet University in France. From left to right Haben Girmay YHDEGO (student), Dawit WELDEGHERGISH (student), Thomas Chaumont ( International Relations Officer), Prof. Alain Tremeau, and Thanh Hang Phung (student). We hope the students will enjoy two years with exciting courses.
Vincent Whannou de Bravo (second cohort) presented the paper “Stress for dehazing” at the 2015 Colour and Visual Computing Symposium. This paper won the best student paper at the conference. “Stress for dehazing” is based on Vincent’s master thesis, carried out at Gjøvik University College in the spring semester of 2015. The paper is co-authored by his master thesis supervisor Prof. Jon Yngve Hardeberg. We congratulate Vincent on his achievement.
Vincent Whannou de Bravo (second cohort), Marion Blancher (third cohort), and Bacary Goudiaby (third cohort) attended the 2015 Colour and Visual Computing Symposium (www.colourlab.no/cvcs) in Gjøvik the 25th and 26th of August 2015. Vincent presented the paper “Stress for dehazing”, which is based on this his master thesis.
The second 3D multimedia technology master cohort defended their master theses on the 17th of June, 2015. We congratulate all 3DMT students on their successful defense, and wish them all the best on the future career.
The students and their master thesis titles:
- Mathieu Hog – Improved Digital Refocusing for Plenoptic Cameras
- Vincent Whanadou de Bravo (picture) – Dehazing with STRESS
- Limanou Gueye – Detection and Segmentation for the spinal cord using Machine Learning
- Margo Khokhlova – Hierarchical Image Segmentation
- Elian Dib Chanon – New image processing algorithms to improve 3D reconstruction of digital holograms
You can still apply for the master program in 3D multimedia program. Potential applicants should follow the admission procedure described at http://master-3dmt.eu/?page_id=30 . Deadline for non-EU applicants is te 31st of March 2015, and the deadline for EU applicants is the 30th of May 2015. We are looking forward to your application.
We have now updated the webpage with information for those students already selected for 3DMT next fall. The information will help you to organize everything before and after arrival in Saint-Etienne. It covers everything from housing, banking services, visa, travel arrangements and more. Ani Khachatryan is currently doing her master thesis. The topic of the thesis is “depth perception in virtual environments”. The aim of the project is to investigate the influence of factors such as, different colors, different geometrical figures, shadows, lightning, size, on human’s depth perception. The results will be based on observers’ depth perception.
