Mobility tracks

Mobility of all students between the two universities is compulsory with the following mobility tracks :

  • Semesters 1 and 2 : study at University Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne (France)
  • Semester 3 : study at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway)
  • Semester 4 : Master thesis internship in France, Norway or any other country

ERASMUS mobility grant

ERASMUS mobility grants are available in second year of the 3DMT programme (from 3 to 12 months), read more on

Students may be awarded an ERASMUS grant to help to cover the travel and subsistence costs (including insurance and visa costs) incurred in connection with their study period abroad.

ERASMUS students – whether or not they receive an ERASMUS grant – are exempted from paying fees for tuition, registration, examinations and access to laboratory and library facilities at the host institution.

The payment of any national grant or loan to outgoing students should be maintained during the ERASMUS study period abroad.

Students may only receive two ERASMUS grants : one for a study period and one for a placement period.

Explo’RA Sup mobility grant

Explo’RA Sup mobility grant is a Rhône-Alpes region funded grant is available in second year for up to 5 months (380 € / month). More information given in the first year of study.


The best applicants could apply for :

UJM Foundation scholarship (10.000 euros, See details here );

IdexLyon scholarship (8000 euro, See details here )

– EUR Sleight scholarship (8000 euro, See details here ).

Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund  (Lånekassen)

Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen) can give financial support, primarily for Norwegian students but also for some of other nationalities, for the 3D Multimedia Technology master programme. For more information see
